Lontong Klang Restaurant

I've never heard of the restaurant name before until my sis in law invited me to join her family for breakfast there in Sect 7, Shah Alam... I'm not a big fan of 'Lontong' (an Indonesian traditional dish consists of compressed rice (nasi impit) in  coconut-based soup, filled with vegetables, bergedel, tempe, eggs, peanut sauce and sometimes meat or dried squid 'sambal'..)...however, the lontong served at this restaurant was definitely original...and tasty too. Very different from those I've tasted before.

I was surprised to see the long queue of customers, waiting in line to order their 'lontong'...there was one line for 'lontong' and another for nasi lemak...(the restaurant also serves nasi lemak)..

Price range is from RM4.00 to RM6.00 for the 'lontong' and nasi lemak. Since it's normally full house...you are advised to come early to avoid disappointment.

Lontong Klang Restaurant,
No.20 Jalan Zikron E7/e, 40000 Shah Alam

**I've heard there is a stall in Klang..inside the Emporium Makan...

The Pormtip Thai Restaurant

On our next dinner 'trip', we went to the Digital Mall in USJ to find out a good place to eat....we browsed over all the halal restaurants in the mall and finally settled in the Pormtip Thai Restaurant as the food in the menu seemed tempting...yummy!...Á meal to Remember?'

I've tried the Chicken feet salad which was very juicy, complete with the sweet n sour flavor...

Mango Sticky Rice....yummy...
Seafood Fried Rice Thai style
Plain omelette for the kids...
Overall,  food was good and somehow tastes very original. The prices also was reasonable. I ended up paying rm64.++  for the whole meal....ok what??? haha...Dinner at Pormtip Thai was highly anticipated and to be quite honest, it did not disappoint.

Ayam Penyet Ria Restaurant

Well known for its Indonesian Ayam Penyet (Smashed fried Chicken) menu, the Ayam Penyet Ria restaurant offers an array of simple but nice fried Indonesian food.  I have tried a few of the dishes here and have found that the portions are enough to stuff my stomach while the food is flavorful. Other than Ayam Penyet, it has Empal Penyet (Smashed Beef Steak), Lele Penyet (Smashed Fried catfish), Bakso Penyet (Smashed beef ball)...and many more...It also has some soup on the menu such as Sup Buntut ...(not the buntut'' as defined in Malay words ok...it's actually the oxtail soup..), Sour Soup and many more...All entrees are served with fried bean curd, 'tempe', 'sambal belacan' and an assortment of vegetables.

I went to one of the Ayam Penyet Ria outlet in Summit USJ with my family to have dinner here...We ordered Empal Penyet, Sup Buntut, Lele Penyet and Udang Penyet.

Dania was happy with her Udang Penyet set...

Udang Penyet set menu

My favourite Empal Penyet...reminds me of that of Wong Solo's Empal sapi...
The Sup Buntut we ordered....the oxtail was so soft and tender....
Lele Penyet....the fish was an L size...

Our dinner for that evening...cost me only RM44.90

Darwisy...enjoying his hot chocolate...
Price ranged from RM4 - RM8 per dish. If you are interested in trying some aunthentic 'taste of Indonesia', this is definitely one of the few places you would want to visit.

Where to find the Ayam Penyet Ria outlets?

1. Sunway Mentari, opposite the Sunway Pyramid.
2. LG2.85, Sunway Pyramid Mall
3. Summit USJ, next to McDonald's.
4. Cyberjaya, Persiaran APEC, Cyber 6 (situated in row of  shops next to Petronas petrol station)
5. Shah Alam, next to Plaza Masalam.
6. Many more...

At RM18 per person, BBQ Land offers a variety of raw meat, seafood and vege to choose...(eventhough the menu is not as many as Johny's and Flaming Steamboat)...this is a must visit place to hangout with friends and family.

La La Chong Seafood Restaurant

I was surprised when one of my good friend had returned from oversea and called us just to take us out for a dinner treat....that was cool...and it was even cooler that we had the privilege to choose the place to eat. So, after a few surfings and searchings, we decided to choose La La Chong Seafood Restaurant as our dinner spot as we never been there before.

Lala in chillies

Hot butter prawn...very hot indeed...
I like the butter prawn but not recommended for kids to eat, as it's very spicy...creamy and spicy....

Juicy...fried crab in salted egg....definitely my favourite!!
This fried crabs menu is a must have here...
Harriz..seems couldnt wait to savour the dishes in front of him...

From left to right  : chilly lala, kailan in oyster, teow chew steamed snapper, fried crabs in salted egg yolk, fried squid and hot butter prawns...
The steamed snapper was nice too...but, it was the last menu we managed to finish...maybe because it looked too familiar, so everyone seemed ignoring it, unlike the rest of the menu...especially the fried crabs..hehe...

La La Chong is definitely one of the great spots to dine-in in PJ, Selangor...affordable and fresh...

Little Taiwan

One day, we had our lunch here..at Little Taiwan...This restaurant serves  a variety of Taiwanese cuisine...Located in the Summit USJ Shopping Centre, there were not many people at the time we reached there...maybe bçoz it was just opened at that time...

I ordered my favourite Three Treasures Dry Glass Noodle....a must-order meal whenever I have my lunch/dinner here..haha...

This dry glass noodle consists of two types of beef stripes and tender meat, together with red and white carrots. It actually tastes a bit different from the one at d Taiwan House in Ampang Point Shopping Mall..

The kids had the pumpkin balls and fish cakes set.

And my hubby had this special Little Taiwan noodle...

There are so many dishes to choose from the menu such as Three Treasures Beef Noodles, Claypot Lou Su Fen, Tang Tang Noodles, spicy Mini Steamboat and many more.... i'd love to try out itsTaiwanese Special Toast on our next visit...

LORONG SERATUS TAHUN RESTAURANT

This nice and cozy restaurant is located in the middle of Taipan Triangle next to the Dorae BBQ Restaurant. You can find most of the Penang delicacies in this kopitiam-like restaurant. The price are 'lebih-kurang' as other kopitiams..ranged from RM5 - RM15.

We had our dinner here last nite and my hubby tried out the Curry Mee as he has been craving for Curry mee for many days...Why hor? :-p...it may look a bit less 'santan'@ coconut milk...but the taste was quite good..

And...I had this famous Penang Char Koay Tiaw with lots of fresh cockles and (only two pieces) huge prawns. This CKT reminds me of Ipoh's Char Koay Tiaw...ahh...yummy!!

A bowl of Ais kacang...fully loaded with beans, cincau, corn, syrup and topped with vanilla ice-cream...

Special Honey Lemon drink...flushes away the fat inside...:)

I love this Penang Rojak...
Penang Rojak and Kaya Bun...

This chocolate drink tastes as rich as its name...ENRICH CHOCOLATE (blended)
At least the ice-blended chocolate tastes much much better than that of the Sec. Recipe....:)

Well, on the next visit...I'll try out the Marmite Chicken Chop Rice ....will update soon!!
